Landmark 1Streetworks contract with UK Power Networks

1Spatial, (AIM: SPA), a global leader in Location Master Data Management (LMDM) software and solutions, is pleased to announce it has signed a £1m SaaS contract with UK Power Networks enabling use of the 1Streetworks platform over the next 15 months, with a one-year extension option.

UK Power Networks has 190,000km of cables and undertakes approximately 40,000 works on the highway each year across London, the South-East and East of England, to maintain safe and reliable power supplies to 20 million people. Over the past year, 1Spatial has engaged with UK Power Networks to realise significant benefits from automating the production of a proportion of the traffic management plans, diversion routing and asset inventory lists, associated with these works.

Over the next 15 months, the roll-out of 1Streetworks is expected to be used to plan and initially deliver up to 30% of this volume of works, extending use of the platform both geographically, across London, the South East and the East of England, as well as into new teams, looking at network faults and reactive works. 

Delivering tangible results

This expanded contract builds on the successful use of 1Streetworks across various operational teams within the Southern region, where it helped to enhance operational efficiencies as well as key performance measures. 

The 1Streetworks SaaS solution could enable UK Power Networks to deliver a 39% reduction in road closures, improve Average Time To Quote and Average Time To Connect, benefiting its customers.

Within the 1Streetworks SaaS solution, a plan can be created in minutes that complies with the high levels of safety and accuracy required by legislation, as well as reducing the length of disruption to traffic. The platform also enables collaboration across the supply chain, further reducing the labour-intensiveness of streetworks design plans.
