RAUTE IS A TECHNOLOGY COMPANY SERVING THE WOOD PRODUCTS INDUSTRY WORLDWIDE
Raute's customers are companies operating in the wood products industry that manufacture veneer, plywood, LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) and sawn timber.. The increasing popularity of renewable raw materials and products, for example in construction, means growth for the wood products industry. The size of the wood products industry sectors served by Raute is close to EUR 50 billion.
The total value of the production technology investments in the global veneer, plywood and LVL industry is estimated at close to EUR 1 billion a year in a normal economic situation. In addition, the size of the after sales market is nearly unlimited for Raute.
Raute is the global market leader its largest customer sector, the plywood industry, with a 15 to 20 percent market share in the investments. Raute's position in the LVL industry is also strong, as approximately more than a half of the LVL manufactured in the world is produced with machines supplied by Raute.
Raute's technology offering covers machinery and equipment for the customer's entire production process. As a supplier of mill-scale projects Raute is a global market leader both in the plywood and LVL industries. Additionally, Raute's full-service concept includes technology services ranging from spare parts deliveries to regular maintenance and equipment modernizations. Typical aspects of project-focused business are sensitivity to cyclical economic fluctuations and poor predictability of timing.
Our customers are served by approximately 800 Raute professionals in ten countries. Raute's head office and main production unit are located in the Nastola area of Lahti, Finland. The company's other production plants arelocated in Kajaani in Finland, in the Vancouver area of Canada, the Shanghai area of China (operations to be moved to Changzhou, Jiangsu province, in early 2022) and in Pullman, WA, USA. The company's sales network has a global reach. Maintenance and spare part services are increasingly offered locally.
