Ørsted is at the forefront of the energy sector’s transformation towards renewables. We are global leader in offshore wind and have installed more than one quarter of the total offshore wind capacity globally. This position is based on innovation and makes Ørsted one of the fastest growing European energy companies. Our Wind Power division employs 2,400 people all working dedicated to lower Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCoE). We broke an industry milestone as the first to achieve LCoE visibly below EUR 100 per MWh with the Dutch Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farms in June 2016. Another industry breakthrough was made in April where we won two German offshore wind projects which will not receive a subsidy on top of the wholesale electricity price. By the end of 2017 we have reached a decided capacity of 8.9GW offshore wind - more than anyone else in the industry.

Ørsted was listed in June 2016. The IPO was the largest in Europe in the last 5 years and the largest IPO ever in Denmark both in terms of deal size and market cap.
