| In 1909 we began selling AJI-NO-MOTO, the world’s first umami seasoning, since then we have developed our business as we pursue mankind’s fundamental need for nourishment and common desire for well-being. While cultivating ideas in the world of food, we have developed a profound understanding of amino acids, and expanded their applications from foods to include aspects of health and medical treatment. "Domestic Food Products" includes seasonings as "AJI-NO-MOTO", "HON-DASHI" and "Cook-Do", processed foods as soups and mayonnaise, "PAL SWEET" (amino acid-based sweetener), "amino VITAL" (amino acid supplement), frozen foods, edible oils, coffee, beverages and dairy products. "Overseas Food Products" includes seasonings as "AJI-NO-MOTO", flavor seasonings and nucleotides, instant noodles, beverages and umami seasonings ("AJI-NO-MOTO" and nucleotides) for processed food mfrs. "Amino Acids" includes feed-use amino acids, amino acids for pharmaceuticals and foods, aspartame for export, specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical fine chemicals. "Pharmaceuticals" includes pharmaceuticals and medical foods. "Other" includes distribution and various services. Note: As of FY2009, the umami seasonings for processed food mfrs. business has been transferred from amino acids to overseas food products. The segment change is reflected for all fiscal years in the charts above. |
